positive thinking, eating honey and winning

Today’s envelope has it all.  Happy rainbow colors, snuggly animals and quirkiness galore.  Behold – the Olympic Grizzly!

Stevie Hopwood Olympic Grizzly EnvelopeYep, you read that right.  The Olympic Grizzly doesn’t believe in luck.  He believes in positive thinking, eating honey and winning.

This envelope was made by Stevie Hopwood and came all the way from London.  It is one long sheet of paper folded into thirds, and then it was tied with string. (I couldn’t control myself from ripping it open and the string is lost.  Oops!)

From Stevie:

Well, here it is – my very 1st Elevated Envelope!  I am so excited to be sending it your way.  After much planning, trial & error and an incredible amount of colouring in on tubes, I can confirm that the District Line is by far the steadiest train to colour in on …  This summer TWO major national events are happening in the UK – London in particular.  The 2012 Olympics, and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee. So I thought it rather apt to pay homage to both in my envelopes! And the animals?!  Well some of you said you liked cats which led me to imagining animals competing in the Olympics…

OF COURSE IT DID.

Here are the other 2 animals featured in her envelopes: Olympic Bunny and Olympic Kitty:

And finally, Stevie enclosed a little postcard featuring one of the above designs or the following one:Stevie Hopwood Olympic Jubilee Envelope

The feeling is most definitely mutual!  Stevie, thank you so much for all your hard work.  (Can you all even imagine how long it took to draw and color all these in? And on a train??)

Wow!
